Consequences of organ choice in describing bacterial pathogen assemblages in a rodent population

SUMMARYHigh-throughput sequencing technologies now allow for rapid cost-effective surveys of multiple pathogens in many host species including rodents, but it is currently unclear if the organ chosen for screening influences the number and identity of bacteria detected. We used 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing to identify bacterial pathogens in the heart, liver, lungs, kidneys and spleen of 13 water voles (Arvicola terrestris) collected in Franche-Comté, France. In this paper, we present a multidisciplinary study addressing fairness in the speaking test in a high-stakes language proficiency test in Finnish, National Certificates of Language Proficiency. The background of the research lies in studies on language assessment and (reversal) linguistic stereotyping and language attitudes. The focus L1 groups were Thai, Estonian, Finland Swedish, Arabic and Russian. Altogether 49 speech samples of test takers of these L1s were rated on a digital platform by 44 raters of the test system. Tapaustutkimukseni tehtävänä on selvittää, kuinka toimijuudet muodostuvat ympäristönsuojelukamppailussa. Tutkimuksen keskiössä on toimijaverkkoteorian näkökulmasta tarkastella Hyvinkään Kurkisuon kohtalosta käytyä ympäristönsuojelukamppailua ja tutkia miten materiallisen toimijuus vaikuttaa tässä kokonaisuudessa. Toimijaverkoston hahmottelussa käytän apuvälineenä Kurkisuon ympäristövaikutusten arviointi -prosessin (YVA) analysoimista, jonka kautta hahmotan toimijat ja heidän välisiä sidoksiaan.
